The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has extended the registration window for the OFSS Bihar 11th Class Online Admission 2026 after receiving repeated representations from students and intermediate colleges across the state. The Online Facilitation System for Students (OFSS) handles centralised admission to Class 11 (Arts, Science, Commerce, Agriculture and Vocational streams) in over 9,500 affiliated intermediate colleges, +2 high schools and minority institutions in Bihar. Candidates who have qualified the Matric (Class 10) examination — whether from BSEB, CBSE, ICSE or any other recognised board — can now submit their Common Application Form (CAF) before the revised cut-off date.
This extension is being seen as a relief for thousands of applicants who faced login issues, payment failures or document upload errors during the original window. Aspirants are advised to carefully fill in the order of preference for colleges and streams, as seat allotment in subsequent merit lists is generated strictly on the basis of marks obtained in Matric and the choice-filling submitted in the CAF.

📊 Merit List & Seat Allotment
Allotment under OFSS is conducted in three successive merit lists. The first list is prepared based on the marks of the Matric examination and the choices filled in the CAF. Candidates who do not get their preferred college in the first list are automatically considered for subsequent lists.
| Round | Action by Candidate |
|---|---|
| 1st Merit List | Take admission in allotted college within stipulated date |
| 2nd Merit List | Fresh allotment for unfilled seats & new applicants |
| 3rd Merit List | Final round of regular allotment |
| Spot Admission | Conducted at college-level for vacant seats after 3rd list |
🔄 Sliding & Upgradation Process
If a candidate is allotted a college lower in the preference order and wishes to upgrade to a higher choice in the next round, they must select the “Sliding Option — Yes” at the time of taking admission. Choosing “No” freezes the current allotment and the candidate will not be considered for further rounds. Once upgraded, the previous allotment stands automatically cancelled and the new college becomes final for that round.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Q1. What is the revised last date for OFSS Bihar 11th Admission 2026?
The Board has officially extended the last date of submission. Candidates must check the latest notice on the OFSS portal for the exact revised cut-off, as the Board may notify the final date in stages.
Q2. Can students from CBSE / ICSE boards also apply through OFSS?
Yes. Candidates from CBSE, ICSE, NIOS or any other recognised board are eligible. They need to manually enter their Class 10 marks while filling the CAF, as auto-fetch is available only for BSEB candidates.
Q3. How many college choices can be filled in the CAF?
Each candidate must fill a minimum of 10 and maximum of 20 college-stream combinations in strict order of preference. Choice order directly determines allotment.
Q4. Is the application fee refundable if I don’t get a seat?
No. The CAF fee of ₹350 is one-time and non-refundable, irrespective of allotment status.
Q5. What is the difference between Sliding “Yes” and “No”?
Selecting “Yes” allows the system to upgrade you to a higher-preference college in the next merit list if a seat becomes available. “No” freezes your current admission as final and removes you from further rounds.
Q6. Can I edit my CAF after submission?
Yes, a limited correction window is provided after submission. Edits to college choices, photo, signature and personal details are permitted; however, Matric marks once verified cannot be changed.
Q7. What if my Matric result is awaited or I have a compartment paper?
Such candidates may still submit the CAF. However, allotment will be valid only if the qualifying result is declared and uploaded before the merit list publication date.
Q8. How will I know if I have been allotted a college?
The intimation letter will be available for download from the OFSS portal using the application reference number, and an SMS alert will be sent to the registered mobile number after each merit list release.
